2. The service

Startupia displays products (websites, apps, social profiles) on an interactive globe. Each country has a board: the product with the highest total of active stakes is #1 and shows on the map. By using the site or staking, you accept these terms.

3. Stakes

• A stake is a purchase of an advertising placement on a country board, for 24 hours from payment. Minimum stake: $1.
• To take #1, the product’s total must beat the #1’s total by at least 10% (and at least $1). The required amount is shown before payment; it may change if someone stakes in the meantime.
• A stake does not guarantee #1 for its whole duration: anyone can outbid. That is how the service works.
• Stakes by the same product in the same country add up; each expires separately.

4. Price, payment and billing

Amounts are in USD, including any applicable taxes. Payment is processed by Stripe; Startupia never receives your card details. Stripe sends you a receipt. The stake is activated as soon as Stripe confirms the payment.

5. No withdrawal, refunds

The placement is a service performed immediately after payment, at your express request: by ticking the box before paying, you waive any right of withdrawal for this service. Stakes are not refunded if you are outbid or if the product is removed for breaking the rules. We give a full refund, to the card used, for duplicate payments and payments that could not be activated because of a technical error on our side. Ask from the Contact page within 14 days of payment.

6. Launch offer

The first 100 claims of an empty country are free for 24 h, once per product and per visitor. Startupia may end the offer or remove a spot obtained abusively (multiple accounts, automation…).

7. Allowed content and moderation

You declare that you have the right to promote the product, its name and its logo. Forbidden: adult content, gambling, scams and phishing, malware or pirated software, counterfeits, weapons, drugs, hateful or illegal content, impersonation of a brand or a person. Startupia may hide at any time, without refund, a product that breaks these rules. To report a product: Contact page.

8. Outbound links

Links to products are paid placements, marked rel="sponsored". Startupia is not responsible for third-party sites or their offers.

9. Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is”. If a lengthy outage caused by us occurs during an active stake, we extend the stake by the length of the outage. Our liability is limited to the amount of the stake concerned. No result (clicks, sales, visibility) is guaranteed.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming (USA), without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. Contact us first with any complaint: we look for an amicable solution.
